TELFORD PICKLEBALL
CUSTOMER CODE OF CONDUCT/TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
By registering as a Telford Pickleball portal user,booking a Telford Pickleball activity and/or participating in a Telford Pickleball activity, you, our valued customer, agree to:
- Advise us IN ADVANCE of ANY medical condition or ailment that we should reasonably know about that may impact on your ability to participate in the Pickleball activities;
- Wear a good pair of suitable sports trainers or tennis court shoes (no black soles, walking, running, cross trainers, or street shoes) to take part in a Telford Pickleball activity;
- Always warm up your body before playing with some easy stretches, back, arms, shoulders, hamstrings (if in doubt consult with a certified physiotherapist or doctor who can factor in any medical problems you may have);
- Keep well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids before, during and after playing:
- Take care when running forward to get any low bouncing ball and to take care when running backwards to get to a ball over your head;
- Always yell ‘BALL ON COURT’ loud and clear if the ball on your court goes onto another court and to NEVER run onto the adjoining court to retrieve your ball - wait until the players on that court throw the ball back to you;
- Never walk behind a court when there are players playing a point on that court - wait until they are between points and let them know you want to cross behind their court;
- Not take an extra ball or balls with you on the court - only one can be used per court and strays should never be left lying on the other courts;
- Not to take extraneous materials (bags, bottles, towels) on the court or hang them on the net posts - these items create unsafe courts and impede visibility;
- Respect your fellow players and do nothing to endanger their safety;
- Listen to and follow all instructions provided to you by the activity organiser(s);
- Recognise that, although activities during a session are not recognised to be dangerous, there is a potential risk of injury. Suitable control measures are in place, which if correctly followed by all participants, aim to reduce the risk of injury. By participating in activities, you are deemed to have accepted these risks with the associated responsibility (the Duty of Care) for yourself and your actions.
